"He who thinks he leads, but has no followers, is only taking a walk."
People who are truly leaders have influence on others. Without this, then they are only leading themself? A true leader has to have followers, and in order to be effective with them they must have a positive influence on the them.
In an essence, everyone has influece. Every person leaves an impression on someone, but whether that was the intended purpose is another matter. Only good leaders can influence people to do what they want.

Vision and Goals:
Life sentence:
Strive for a golden character.
Team sentence:
Sacrifice for Family
Fight for Love
As a person your character determines who you are both on and off the field of play. I personally strive to be the same at home as I am at school or on the football field or even the baseball diamond. I know that if I'm the same, the I won't have conflicting personalities. People don't nessicarily have to do this, but they need to have the same basic principles everywhere they go in order to obtain a basic idea of who they are as a person. By knowing who they are, then they can choose who they will become.
As a team you need to be willing to not always have what you want, but rather give what the team needs. Through this you will be investing yourself in your team, which means you will come to value it. As a result, players and coaches will defend their team because they love it.

What is leadership? What is the Difference between the two types of leadership?
Leadership defines the amount of influence that a person has on their piers. There is both leading by performance and leading with words. Performance requires that a person must always do their best, though it may not always be perfect, in order to have a positive affect on others. Vocal leaders need to both lead by example, as that of a performance leader, but also need to speek and not be silent. This is the hardest type of leadership because people either struggle speaking or they struggle doing what they say. It is these leaders who are the team leaders.
"A performance leader is an individual athlete that excels at his or her sport demonstrating competence and mastery of teh sport spicific skills. A team leader is an aindividual willing and able to contribute in a wide-range of ways to the success of the team-on and off the the fireld of play." -Jim Tressel

Trust:
To have faith and assurance in someone or something
Honestesty:
Being truthful with oneself and with others; to be honest.
In order to obtain trust with others you have to be truthful with people. Through this peoples' ability to entrust you with their personal or significant things with increase. By being honest you aquire trust, where on the flip side if you're entrusted with something then you have to be honest and loyal to that person when asked about it.
According to John Maxwell, "Trust is the foundation of leadership." Without having trust, then it is impossible to lead.

Third Post
My focus is on the people to whom I'm speaking with. I see is as if I'm being attentive to who I am speaking with then it forces me to listen to them. Accordign to John Maxwell, "Listening alsways pays dividends." In order to have influence on a person you have to listen to them so you can get to know them. In order to listen to them you must focus on that person.

Second Post
I can motivate people depending on the position we're in. Depending on whether or not I have experience in a certain situtation has an impact on whether or not I'm put in a role of leadership. When I am in a place where I can have an impact on what occurs, I'll often lead my followers into thinking that my idea was that of their own so that they can understand it and apply it in their own ways that suit them. According to John Maxwell, "You cannot connect with someone if you don't try and listen." If you can't connect with someone then you cannot have an influence over them. It is often easier to connect with someone in a one-on-one conversation that forces you to find something in common with eachother.

First Post
I would considermyself as a good listener. I'm able to sit down and be quite without cutting people off in mid-sentence while at the same time interact with them by inserting comments or questions into a conversation that relate to what we're talking about. The hardest part for me about listening is that at times I can easily get distracted and lose interest in a conversation. As a dubbed leader, I need to focus more on ignoring distractions. I do know that from experience that I can listen and produce results when I stay engaged for most if not all the discussion.
